Thursday: Black and Blue (and a naughty kitty)

May 12, 2011

This is the sort of outfit that my coworker and I like to call “Art-Lady/Pajama Outfit.”

Pretty much the idea is that you look kind of arty, but you feel like you’re wearing pajamas.

Long sleeve black scoop-neck T from the Gap

Dark teal drape-front cardigan

Black trousers (a bit too long for my shoes, but oh well)

Dr. Scholl’s flats (I wear these ALL THE TIME)

The lovely necklace is from Cost Plus, I think. I find that this robins-egg blue is actually really versatile and I find myself wearing this necklace pretty often.

This outfit is so comfy. Pretty much I could (and do) wear a variation of this most every day.

I also notice that I wear a cardigan pretty much every single day. Did I mention that my office is freezing? Most offices are freezing. Doctor’s offices, work offices… it doesn’t matter. You always need a cardigan, as far as I’m concerned.

And now for the very naughty kitty, whose new trick is to jump up on the kitchen counter. Naughty boy! He just learned how to do this. Now, how to un-learn him…

But isn’t he a handsome boy? We love him so much.

The pants are pretty much PJs in disguise. I love them. I wear them all the freaking time.

I think you are right. I just hope he doesn’t jump up when the stove is on. Naughty kitty.

I love this outfit too. It is totally something I would wear!

I love this outfit! It looks so glamorous with such a nice drape. That necklace is also awesome, I can see it going with so many colors and styles. I *again* need to look in to Dr Scholls flats. I’m currently going with a couple of pairs of Eccos which I got for comfort, but the cut hits a nerve at the base of my big toe. Too weird.

Playing along at home: today I mostly stayed in to practice a lecture and I ran a few errands. For no reason I wore an emerald green shirt dress with a full skirt, linen blend navy long cardi over, belted with a floral belt, and Clarks cork wedges. You know you’ve spent a lot of time in the house when your other half is shocked to see *shoes* on you when he comes home for lunch.

I used to have Eccos and they are super comfy. The Dr. Scholl’s took a little breaking in but now they are soooooo comfy.

I need an emerald green dress.

I read in another blog that it’s actually more energy-saving to keep the A/C on full blast because if you lower the temp, the heater will actually kick in so you’re using both a/c and heater at the same time…?

    Here it is: http://jewelboxdreams.blogspot.com/2009/05/warm-weather-air-conditioning-conundrum.html

interesting. I hate being cold at work. I have to have a heating pad and a blanket AND a sweater at my desk at all times, it’s so freaking cold.

    I love this outfit.

And we have 2 naughty kitties. If you figure out how to stop the counter lounging, please let me know.

Love the trousers! I need to find some like that. The problem with naughty kitties is that they are so often cute when they are being naughty and it is difficult to scold them properly.

    • May 13, 2011 8:04 am

That is the problem. It’s hard to shoo them down when they are sitting there being adorable. Last night I shooed Thomas down and he gave me the saddest, most confused look. “Why are you mad at me? What did I DO?”

I so want a long necklace so I can be ‘in’ but I just can’t seem to find the one worthy. Indecision, I guess. (and cheap.)
I enjoyed the photo essay week. 🙂
and I love the header of the squirrel looking in at the cat. I take photos just for my header and I love how this one ‘fits’! and it’s crazy, too. Gotta appreciate the crazy.

Is $5 cheap enough? I think that’s what this one cost!

      • May 16, 2011 12:00 pm

I’m obviously not shopping in the right places… Yes, I would pay $5 for that necklace.

      • May 16, 2011 12:52 pm

Cost Plus! Look for their sales. Cheap, cheap, cheap.

We don’t have Cost Plus stores out here. (in fact, never heard of them.) oh well. 🙂
