Sweet Katie

I can’t believe we had to say goodbye to another one of our girls. Tiger Lily two years ago, Cleo just over two months ago, and today, our little Katie girl.

Katie was Terri’s baby. She raised her from four days old. Talk about bonded. Those two were linked by a tight psychic connection. Katie always knew when Terri was upset or sad, and immediately came over and snuggled right in. Even in her very last days, when we had to carry her onto the bed, if Terri was crying, Katie would spoon with her and lay very still and purr very softly.

It took a very long time for Katie to accept me but then once she did, I was *in.* She could be a little temperamental but when she turned on the charm and the love, it was like nothing else. Pure sweet angelic Katie love. She would reach out with a paw and gently touch your face, look at you with big soulful eyes, purr. One of those very special animals that just gets right into your heart.

She struggled with CRF (chronic renal failure) for the past seven years, which is amazing in and of itself. She was a fighter and loved being alive. She started having some trouble a couple weeks after Cleo died, but even then, she continued to live with gusto until Sunday night.

This morning the vet came and Katie very peacefully went to meet all those who went before. She was surrounded by love her entire life and she left encircled by love. We will miss her so terribly.
