The dogs are here. They are adorable! We’re all adjusting to the new routine. Thomas was pretty nervous but I think he’s starting to figure out that they aren’t going to hurt him. We have a baby gate up in the hall, so he has half the house and the dogs have the other half. He’s been venturing into the hallway to peer at them.
It’s June 4th. In the Tri-Valley. And it’s pouring down rain outside and I’m bundled up under blankets and wearing a heavy sweatshirt. Sigh. I do hope that after this, it starts to warm up. The garden is doing well but it could use a burst of heat.
This weekend could go in a couple different directions. We’re thinking about getting a different TV for the living room (ours is old and doesn’t fit well — we’d like to get a flat one to go up higher so we’d have more floor space), and we are couch-shopping. It’s also the adoptathon this weekend and they are practically begging people to come and get free kittens. Come on, I mean, really? Free kittens? This is pretty hard to resist. Even with two new dogs in the house.
Or we could avoid all of that, make some baked goods, and hibernate in bed all weekend.
Any of those options seem pretty nice.
I also have to get the library. I have A Passage to India, The Little Friend, and A Tree Grows In Brooklyn ready for me to pick up.
Hope it’s warm and sunny wherever you are, and you are getting some well-earned relaxation this weekend.
